Asa Legacy: Day 2

Asa Legacy: Day 2, Monday

I woke up bright and early this morning around 4 o'clock. The sun hadn't even risen yet. I made my bed and then rummaged through the fridge for something to eat. It's still pretty bare, so I settled for another juice box. Nice and sugary. Just what I need for a good day of gardening. After finishing breakfast (if it could really be called that) I went out to check on my garden, and to my delight, I found that overnight my little seedlings had sprouted. Two of the three are rather overrun by weeds, but I haven't yet learned how to pull them properly, so I settled for watering the plants.

The sun rose just as I was finishing tending to the watering. The dawn was beautiful: the golden rays dancing across the green landscaping.

To my delight, I found myself in the company of a rather fat black-and-white cat. I think he looks like a tuxedo cat, but I can't be sure. I also didn't check to see what gender the cat was, but I did give him (or her) a good brushing and a quick go of the "kitty laser game" before letting him go on his way.

After that, I finished tending to my garden and gained my very first skill point. I was very excited, so I decided right away to see if I could find a job to do with gardening.

I picked up today's newspaper (I didn't get up early enough to meet Skip when he dropped it off, apparently.) and rifled through it, searching for the job listing section. I found out that the Bistro is holding an eating contest on Wednesday. I might go to that if I haven't earned enough for a proper meal by then...

The Betatown Broncos apparently beat our Llamas in some sort of sporting event... Ouch... Apparently the Llama Memorial Stadium is also holding a little competition on Friday for people's pets. I don't have one, so that doesn't really apply to me anyway.

The gardening classes are discounted today, I noticed, but with only $7, I don't have nearly enough to attend one of them. For now I guess I'll just have to rely on personal experience to develop that skill.

Finally I reached to job listing sections. The only mention I found of gardening was for self-employment, so I headed up to city hall to register.

A few minutes later, I found myself an official "Cucumber Smasher." It feels great!

I was feeling a bit grimy, so I went next door to the 28 hour Wellness Gym (though how it's open for 28 hours a day in a 24 hour day is beyond me). I took a nice hot shower there and washed off all that grime and dirt that had settled on me while I was gardening.

Afterwards, I quickly went home and finished up my painting from yesterday. I called it "Sinking Cactus Under the Sun" and it sold for $13.

That brought my funds up to a whopping $20 simoleons, but the bills came today, and I had to pay $10 for that. At least that's not so bad, even if it was technically 50% of my funds.

After paying the bills, I went outside and planted the several packets of seeds I'd received when I registered to become a farmer. I planted another lettuce plant, three grapes, a tomato, and an apple tree. I'm especially looking forward to watching that apple tree grow.

All that "dirt-scratching", as my mother would have called it, led to me gaining my second gardening skill point, and I was finally knowledgeable enough to pull the weeds from my previous lettuce plants. It makes me feel good knowing that they won't be suffocating anymore.

I tended the whole garden, and when there was nothing left for me to do there, I came back inside and began another painting.

I've decided to go for broke and attempt a large-scale painting. Hopefully it'll pay off and help out with those bills in the short term. Raising crops takes some time...

After another juicebox, I went straight to bed. I like to be up bright and early.

The Aldens: Day 2

Day 2:
(Albus POV)

This morning I got up and let Seamus out of his crib. I set about teaching him to talk.

He caught on very quickly. Perhaps he'll take after me and be a genius as well.

Meanwhile, Allison, who is a natural cook, decided to make a breakfast of Mac 'n' Cheese. She gained her first cooking skill point in the process.

Afterward, while I ate, Allison decided to continue potty training Seamus. He hasn't quite got the hang of doing it on his own, but I can tell he's definitely more comfortable now.

I went back outside and began work on a new clay sculpture. Not sure what this one will be yet, but I did gain a sculpting point in the meantime. I decided to go over to city hall and officially register to be a sculptor.
Allison said that while I was out, she accidentally clogged the toilet, so she spent most of the day trying to undo her bout of unluckiness...

At least Seamus had a good time. Allie said that the entire time she was wrestling with the plunger, Seamus was plinking away at the Xylophone she'd bought him. Apparently, he's a natural.

We put Seamus to sleep a little early tonight because I had some plans for some alone time with my wife.

Once he was asleep, I led Allie to our room for a little fun... I'm hoping this leads to another little one because I really love children. I'd love to have a big family: five or six children would be ideal.

She fell asleep in my arms afterward, and I soon drifted off, dreaming of my love...

The Aldens: Day 1

Generation 1
Albus m. Allison
-- Seamus
House: DogPatch
Day 1:
(Allison POV)
Today we moved into our home. It's called the DogPatch house, and it's got two bedrooms. Perfect for starting out.

Albus has his heart set on becoming a famous sculptor, so while he began working on the clay outside,
I busied myself with teaching Seamus how to walk. It's a very important skill for him to learn.
Al certainly has a knack for that clay. He finished a chair in a couple of hours and sold it for $18.

Afterwards, one of our neighbors came to visit: Meadow Carpenter-Rhodes. She was glad to welcome our family into the neighborhood.
Seamus needed a quick potty break from learning to walk,

but he was quickly back on his feet. He finished learning to walk not too long afterward!

I left Seamus to play with the dollhouse his daddy bought for him.

I saw this as a good opportunity to prepare some dinner: I made  an autumn salad. Yum!
I fed Seamus in his high chair and then Albus and I ate dinner.

It was getting late, so I put Seamus to bed.

Albus and I turned in for the night. I had horrible nightmares about being forced to swim the English channel, which I would never do in real life because I hate swimming.

Taking a Break: The Speed Game

The Speed Game

Because I'm a rather impatient person and have a relatively short attention span, I tend to switch between games as I play. (For the followers of my Legacy challenge: no fear, Asa is still there, safe and sound. He's just waiting for me to return.) So I've created my own challenge: see what I can do / how long I can keep the game running while on the shortest lifespan available for Sims. (For those of you who don't have the expansions / updates up to that point, it's 26 days total.)

Age Lengths:
Baby: 1 day | Toddler: 2 days | Child: 2 days | Teen: 4 days | Young Adult: 6 days | Adult: 6 days | Elder: 5 days

No cheating
No aging up early
Heirs through bloodline
Heirs can be of any gender
Traits must be picked at random

Looking forward to playing this game every now and again. =D
